Best Spots to Sip a Margarita in Norfolk

One of my favorite cocktails to enjoy during a night out in Norfolk is a margarita, but it’s difficult to find one that’s high quality and tasty. Thankfully, Norfolk knows how to make a mean margarita. I’ve rounded up my favorite margs throughout Norfolk in honor of National Margarita Day! You’re welcome.

Best Spicy Margarita - Luna Maya

All of the cocktails I’ve enjoyed at Luna Maya are worth trying, but you can’t beat the chipotle rim on the spicy margarita, aka the Chile Fulano. Luna Maya uses fresh, quality ingredients that will leave you feeling happy without the heaviness that comes with a pre-made, sugary margarita mix. They have a solid variety of margarita types, from traditional to flavored, each with its own hip Luna Maya flair. Pair your margarita with the enchiladas for a complete Luna Maya experience.

Best Skinny Margarita – Guads on Granby

The skinny margarita offered at Guads is light and refreshing, and comes in a regular or jumbo size for double (or triple?!) the fun! The skinny margarita offers an alternative to the more traditional, sweet margarita on the menu that guests can enjoy frozen or on the rocks. This spot is typically not too busy, so you can pop in and enjoy without the added stress of waiting for an hour on a table. Their food menu is broad and offers delicious Mexican food to pair with your margarita of choice.

Best Fresh Ingredient Margarita – Perro Blanco

Perro Blanco does an exceptional job at their cocktail craft, with margaritas being a focal point on the drink menu. Any margarita or tequila drink offered, such as the Perro Paloma, can be created with mezcal as a tequila alternative to provide a subtle smoky flavor, leaving you feeling a bit classier than you arrived.

Best Happy Hour Margarita – Union Taco

Union Taco can do no wrong in my book, but their happy hour from 4 – 7 on weekdays is especially noteworthy, offering $5 margaritas. Pair your beverage with one of their delightful appetizers, such as the birria nachos or shishito peppers. Appetizers are also $2 off during happy hour.

There are so many great spots to sip a margarita for National Margarita Day, these are just a few of my current favorites. Cheers!
