A Night Inn at Four Eleven York

A Night Inn at Four Eleven York

If you’re looking for a way to treat yourself, pay a visit to Four Eleven York, the boutique bed and breakfast located downtown in the Freemason District. This unique stay provides a classy experience that mixes bougie and modern with historic and cozy.

 The Four Eleven Experience

Even for Norfolk locals, the Four Eleven York Inn is worth a night for a staycation. The experience is unlike anything else the city offers. Upon arrival, guests are greeted with a warm welcome from the staff and a glass of prosecco to kick off your stay. Once escorted to your room, complimentary snacks and beverages await, along with stunning décor and renovated amenities such as heated floors to give you the utmost pampered experience. While the rooms offer anything you’d need, if you do decide to venture out to the rest of the Inn, there’s a beautiful living room area for guests to enjoy a nice fireside chat.

A Breakfast Fit for Kings

There’s a cozy and cheerful dining room downstairs for guests to enjoy their homemade breakfast during their stay.

For guests lucky enough to enjoy a Sunday morning at the Inn, they have the option to forego their typical breakfast and instead head next door to the Four Eleven York restaurant to enjoy a delightful brunch. My experience included a fresh cup of joe, made with coffee from Norfolk Coffee and Tea down the road. To accompany my coffee, I was treated with a complimentary fresh donut that was melt in your mouth good.

After the perfectly paired coffee and pastry, I went the savory route with the Zucchini Waffle, the Four Eleven take on chicken and waffles. This included confit chicken, cheddar cheese, French onion crème fraiche, and a fried egg on a savory zucchini waffle. It was absolutely delicious, and the perfect amount of food that left me feeling content but not so full I had to lie in bed the rest of the day.

During the warmer months, there’s also the option to enjoy a meal or cocktail in the courtyard, complete with firepits and string lights for ultimate ambiance.

Freemason Feels

In addition to the beautiful building and the wonderful food to pair with the stay, the location of Four Eleven York is in perfect proximity to downtown. Tucked away in the Freemason District, you can enjoy a morning stroll along cobblestone streets and even pop by Cure Coffeehouse before sitting down to brunch, or you can go on a bigger venture downtown to enjoy all it has to offer.

Overall Experience

Four Eleven York blew me away, transporting me to a whimsical and vibrant experience right in the heart of Norfolk. Whether you have the opportunity to spend an evening at the inn, or just enjoy a cocktail at the restaurant, a trip to Four Eleven York is in order.
